Thandie Sequin Headband
026
The greyish silver pieces in this headband are called 'white iron pyrite' or 'marcasite' or commonly known as poor mans diamonds. They were made in the 1900's when queen Victoria was in grief and wearing black and there wasn't lots of bright coloured jewellery as the fashion was copying the queen, but marcasite was made as a substitute for diamonds.
The diamante are 1950's and the larger pearls are too. The smaller pearls that are ball shaped are new. The sequin base is handyed and leather backed.
