Floris Large feather Headband
044
Floris. A large handyed feather headband with antique diamante and exquisite vintage bow detail. Marcasite touches with dreamy like pearl softness, the greyish silver pieces are called 'white iron pyrite' or 'marcasite' or commonly known as poor mans diamonds. They were made in the 1900's when queen Victoria was in grief and wearing black and there wasn't lots of bright coloured jewellery as the fashion was copying the queen, but marcasite was made as a substitute for diamonds. The diamante are early 1900's and the pearls are too. The feathers are hand-dyed cream and the piece is leather backed, a fabulous headdress for the bride or party lover that wants a heavenly ethereal look to her day.
